BlacKnite drilling fluid additive performs greater than the sum of its parts. This “original & patented” multi-sized particle, multi-blended dispersed coupled gilsonite, lignite, and carbon black in a proprietary formulated glycol-based liquid that has a primary function to prevent stuck pipe, reduce fluid loss and create a borehole condition that is not only stable but stronger with exceptional HPHT fluid loss control. BlacKnite can be mixed directly in mud systems. Additions of BlacKnite are best accomplished by adding the product directly to the suction tank or through the rig hopper; however, the product can be added as a chemical pre-mix when necessary. Concentrations of 1-3% (depending on mud density) are sufficient for borehole stability, HPHT rheology control, and HPHT filtrate reduction and assist in inhibition.
